Medicaid Update
On October 11, 2011, the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) in Illinois voted to lift the prohibition on the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA) proposed rule changes, with the stipulation that the DRA rules be published with the JCAR approved changes. The impact of lifting the prohibition means that the requirements of the DRA regarding certain changes to the Medicaid eligibility rules will soon be in effect for Illinois Medicaid applicants seeking coverage for nursing home care. We will post additional information regarding the impact of the new rules in Illinois on our website, once we have had an opportunity to review and confirm that the final version of the rule changes do, in fact, meet the requirements of the inclusion of the JCAR approved changes.
